Stroke

A stroke occurs when the supply of blood and oxygen to the brain is either partially or completely cut off.

In a person with obstructive sleep apnea, blood flow and oxygen are already reduced, further exacerbating the likelihood of a stroke. If left untreated you have at least double the risk of stroke and death.

STROKE KILLS ALMOST 163,000 PEOPLE A YEAR according to the American Stroke Association. That is 1 out of every 15 deaths. STROKE is the number three cause of death in the US.

New research out of Yale University shows people with apnea are typically loud snorers and are two times more to die sooner or have a stroke than those without it.
